About Me
Nicholas Harney is a New Jersey/New York based performer who's career spans from live stage performances to TV and Film. Though his training comes from a strict dance background acting has always been a true passion for him.
Nicholas graduated from Montclair State University in 2013 earning his BFA in Dance Performance. While there he performed works by Bill T Jones, Paul Taylor, Larry Keigwin, Fredrick Earl Mosley and many more. During his time at Montclair he also worked in collaboration with Freespace Dance Company, Freespace 2, Project Smith and the School at STEPS. After graduating, Nick accepted a contract performing for Carnival Cruise Lines. Since then he has travelled to several countries performing on five ships of the Carnival fleet for the last four years. With Carnival, Nick was selected to be a member of the inaugural cast for four of the company’s newest shows, working with Broadway performers and directors such as Peter Flynn, Jennifer Savelli, Marcos Santana and Emmett Murphy.
Since working with Carnival Cruise Lines Nick has made an effort to take part in every opportunity he can get his hands on in between contracts. With New York City just across the river he has taken part in several small gigs to build up experience on TV/Movie sets including featured extra work in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, How the Internet Ruined My Life, Evil Lives Here and company online media promos.
Though his screen acting career is young and developing his performing career with Carnival is advancing. He currently holds the position of Cast Manager as well as lead singer for their high energy, and technologically advanced, shows giving him the opportunity to use his acting chops in carrying their stories.
Every aspect of Nicholas' training has contributed to his ability to express emotion through all different mediums, each of them strengthening the others. He has the discipline and spacial awareness of a dancer, passion and story-telling of a singer and character analytics and inner story of an actor. Each with years of development and professional practice behind them.
Nicholas tries to never stop working and will always be looking for projects to commit to that are willing to commit to him.
As well as being a budding actor, established dancer and singer, and seasoned stage performer Nicholas is a talented photographer! Able to take portraits/headshots, action stills, fashion photography and conceptual artistic shots.
